Two Headed Giant Limited

Team up with a friend in this Two Headed Giant event and you could both qualify for the 2012 GenCon Championship!

Registration: 1:00 p.m.

Start Time: 2:00 p.m.

Entrance fee: $18 (per player)

Format: 2HG Limited - Sealed Deck

Notes: Each team will receive 8 packs of Magic 2013.

Format Description: Each team will receive 8 packs from the current limited format. They will use these packs and any amount of basic lands to build 2 forty card decks.

Teams will play single game matches each round versus another team. Each team takes shared turns, in which both players take each phase at the same time. Attackers and blockers are declared together, and each team has a single, combined life total.

Structure: Swiss

Structure Description: The principle of a Swiss tournament is that each player will be pitted against another player who has done as well (or as poorly) as him or herself.

Each round, players who win receive 3 points, those who draw receive one point and losers receive no points. Win, lose, or draw, all players proceed to the next round. In subsequent rounds, players face opponents with the same (or almost the same) score. No player is paired up against the same opponent twice however.

In some events, after Swiss rounds there will be a cut to a single-elimination playoff between the top players.

Prizes: Each player on the winning team receives a foil sheet of Magic 2013 and an invitation to the 2012 GenCon Championship.
Additional prizes will also be awarded based on attendance.
